Dr. Schwarz-Schilling & Partners is a corporate finance, M&A and management consultancy firm for companies in the Internet, Media, Telecommunications and Technology markets in Germany and the European Union. We provide senior-level, conflict-free advice with strong execution skills on the basis of significant sector know-how.

The firm was founded in the mid 90s by Prof. Dr. Christian Schwarz-Schilling, who was the German Minister for Post and Telecommunications and responsible for the liberalisation of the telecom market in Germany, the worldwide mobile communication standard GSM and the nationwide cable television network.

The German Partners and their teams have successfully completed well over 60 finance and M&A transactions and over 100 advisory assignments. Our International Partners with offices in London, Paris, Madrid and Shanghai have completed more than 150 transactions during their career.

Managing Director


  • Managing Director of Dr. Schwarz-Schilling & Partners, joined the firm in 1998.
  • Built up firm’s corporate finance business and successfully executed large number of private equity and M&A-transactions.
  • Holds positions as supervisory board member in several technology companies. Acts as private investor.
  • Commercial banking experience and experience in the corporate finance business by working with the Merrill Lynch M&A team (New York); Wilkinson, Barker & Knauer (Washington D.C.) and KPMG Consulting (Berlin).
  • Master’s Degree in Economics at Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn.

Ertuğrul Taner

Dr Ingo Hattendorf



  • Partner of Dr. Schwarz-Schilling & Partners since 2017 with a deep industry expertise especially from a corporate perspective. Experienced strategy director who held several management positions in startups, mid-sized and publicly listed tech companies like QSC AG.
  • M&A transaction experience for 15+ years in acquisitions, carve-outs, joint ventures, mergers as well as selling of businesses. Recent projects included cloud, software, internet of things, outsourcing and cybersecurity.
  • Profound network relationships on a national and international level. Holds a PhD in Physics at Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn.

  • In the mid 80s, Manuel joined ITT Spain, later Alcatel Spain, as Technical Director, becoming soon General Manager for Telecom networks, developing and comissioning more than 40m telephone lines around the World
  • He started his career in Radio Systems, developed at Philips (Netherlands), Piher (Spain) and TRW (France and the U.S.)
